Law Enforcement
Today with over 53% of ALE (Airborne Law Enforcement) operators using Bell products, the Bell 4 Series is the ALE platform of choice by sheriff departments and municipalities alike. The Bell 4 Series has the payload to carry tactical radios, FLIR, exterior microwave downlink devices, as well as tactical insertion capabilities. EMS
Bell helicopter has a long history of transporting critically injured or ill patients. The impressive reduction of mortality after introduction of the Bell 47 and the Huey helicopters during the Korean and Vietnam wars led to their eventual civilian use. The expanded civilian mission included providing life-saving procedures en route to the hospital by highly trained medical professionals. In addition, the helicopter and team were called on to transport patients requiring the continued use of the specialty equipment such as the isolette, intra-aortic balloon pump ECMO and much more.
